%X A new full bright zinc electroplating technology was developed by using an alkaline zincate bath, consisted of a general zinc electroplating solution of alkaline zincate with addition of homemade XY- 03A brightening agent. Hull Cell tests were performed to ascertain the concentrations of brightening agent such as zinc oxide, sodium hydroxide and the effect of temperature. The peoperties of the alkaline zincate bath and zinc plating coating were tested. The results showed that zinc coating was full bright and grainy. The adhesion of zinc coating was good. The dispersibility of the solution, the coverage ability of the coating and the cathodic current efficiency of the bath and corrosion resistance of the coating for the new process were much batter than those of DE zinc plating coating.
