%X In this paper the general theory of the open resonant cavity with slow-varying sections for a gyrotron is described briefly, the bieonical open resonant cavity is discussed in detail, and the design principle of the bieonical resonant eavity for operating at arbitrary circular-electric mode is given. The theoretical analysis is in agreement with experimental results.
