%X General formulae describing field distributions and eigenvalue equations are presented forboth TE and TM modes of the periodic structural optical waveguide with an arbitrary well number andwith a periodic square wave refractive index profile,The effects of the structrual parameters and therefractive index profile on the shapes of the rnode distributions are analyzed for(Al)GaAs/AlGaAsperiodic structural optical waveguides.To obtain optical guided waves with identical amplitudes inthis kind of waveguides,the methods for selecting appropriate parameters are presented anddiscussed.
