%X Polo-like kinase 1(Plk1) play critical roles during multiple stages of cell cycle progression. Plk1 contain an N-terminal Ser/Thr kinase catalytic domain and a C-terminal region that contains two Polo-boxes. Plk1 gene and protein expression has been proposed as a new prognostic marker for many types of malignancies, and Plk1 is a potential target for cancer therapy.
