%X The influence of a pre-treatment with silan coupling agent of the steel substrate and addition of silane coupling agent to zinc-richpaints on corrosion protectiveness of zinc-rich paints (ZRPs) on steels was studied.Corrosion potential and electrochemical impedance spectroscopy (EIS) measurements were used to assess the corrosion prevention performance of the modified coatings.Furthermore,the impedance module at low frequency of coating samples were derived to assess the coating deterioration with time.The results showed that the modification with silane can effectively enhance the lifetime for cathodic protection period of ZRP coatings.
