%X The strength behavior and crack propagation of Ca0. 5 Sro. 5Zr4(PO4)ceeram ics after thermal shock are shown to depend on the thermal expansion coeffcient and axial thermal expansion characteristic of the ceramics. It is different from A12O3 ceramics that the retained strength of CS ceramics subjected to thermal shocks greater than its room temperature strength, the phenomenon can be explained by the mechanism of crack partial closing suggested by author.The effect of different room temperature bending strength Of CS ceramics on critical temperature difference is analyzed by the effeCtive crack length calculated with Sack equation.
