%X There exists a ductile to brittle transition for polypropylene caused by variation of loading rate at constant temperatures. With increasing loading rate, the material fractures by transition from plastic to brittle ways. Increasing temperature makes the transition move to a higher rate. By introducing Arrhenius law, a quantitative relationship has been obtained through thermal activation analysis, which can describe the relationship between fracture energy and loading rate and temperature.
