%X Thermal expansion coefficient is an important property of compo-site materials.To predict it from constituent properties is necessary in design ofmaterials and other aspects.On the basis of analysing the behavior of thermalexpansion of composite filament,a new method has been developed.It is usedto calculate the linear thermal expansion coefficients of short and radom fibercomposites, which is conformed by the results of carbon fiber-copper matrixcomposite material.
