%X By means of uniaxial tension,uniaxial compression and hot extrusion,theplastic deformation behaviors of the SiC_w/Al composite made by squeeze casting methodwere investigated in this paper.The results show that while the stress state of the compositechanges from tensile state to copressive one,the ultimate amount of plastic deformation in-creases.It is demonstrated that the yeild strength of the SiC_w/Al composite is lower,andthe plastic deformation strengthening is higher,and the elongation increases with increasingdeformed temperature.SiC whiskers are oriented to the deformed direction and the aspectratio of the SiC whisker is reduced with increasing the amount of deformation.
