%X The effect of small amount of boron on CuZnAl shape memory alloy hasbeen systematically studied by electrical resistence method,quantitaive measurement ofmetallurgraph,tensile test and scanning elecrton microscopy.It is found that,by addingsmall amount of boron to CuZnAl alloy,the grain size is refined greatly and the graingrowth is inhibited effectively.The martensite transformation temperatures and the shapememory effect are affected very little.The mechanical property is improved dramaticallybecause of the grain refinement and the grain boundary strengthening.Otherwise,theworking mechanism of grain refinement has been discussed.
