%X A modified formulation is given in present paper to describe the free energychange during non-equilibrium solidification of pure metals.An expression for the entropychange is established to predict quantitatively the extent of deviation of non-equilibriumsolidification from the equilibrium state,and further discussion about the free energy changeand the entropy change is made based on the data from calculations.
