%X Liquid crystalline(LC)polysiloxane with cholesteric group inside chain has been prepared by a polyhydrosilylation reaction of poly(hydro-genmethylsiloxane)with a terminal alkenic cholesteric group.IR spectra incrystalline,liquid-crystalline and fluid isotropic phases were studied.By ana-lyzing the temperature dependence of the spectra intensity,the effect of thecholesteric side chain on the crystalline and liquid-crystalline statcs were exam-ined.The results show that the cholesteric group plays an important role in therealization of the crystallinc and liquid-crystalline phase,and the differencebetween the crystal and the liquid-crystal is determined by the different orien-tational arrangement of the cholesteric group.
