%X This paper has systematiclly studied the new technology of gaseous surfacetreatment of carbon fibers.After treatment,the tensile strength and tensile modulus do not de-crease,but its surface free energy and functional groups increase obviously and surfacecrystallites get smaller and the LLSS of composites increase by 47%.The morphology offractural section is studied by SEM and the results indicate that the new technology of surfacetreatment is effective in strengthening the adhesion of fibers and matrix.
