张鹏 %A 俞刚 %J 力学学报 %D 2006 %I %X In this paper, an analytical solution is presented for the Rayleigh-Taylor instability of a viscous liquid drop at high Bond numbers. The instability plays an important role in the early stage of the aerodynamic breakup of liquid drops in a supersonic flow. Based on the analytical solution, the maximum size of a liquid drop stable with respect to Rayleigh-Taylor instability and the initiation time of drop breakup can be predicted.
