%X This paper deals with the correction of frequency errors of structure with randomdesign parameters and the selection problem for parameters to be modified.The conceptsof ideal parameter to be modified,optimal parameter to be modified and optimal parametergroup in which all parameters are optimal parameters to be modified are introduced. Theoptimal parameters to be modified,which make the expectation of the root-mean-square fre-quency errors taking the minimum value, and their quantities to be modified are obtained.The formula of the minimum value of the expectation of the root-mean-square frequencyerrors is given.Furthermore, the minimum number of optimal parameters in optimal pa-rameters group is obtained. This optimal parameter group makes the minimum value of theexpectation of the root-mean-square frequency error is equal to zero.A truss structure isused to illustrate the application of the method.
