This algorithm divides a host image into two parts: region of interest and region of background. The region of interest is coded based on 4×4 blocks, and the codes are then embedded into the DCT coefficients of the region of background by a novel mapping function. Experimental results indicate that this scheme can authenticate the whole image, at the same time, if the region of interest is tampered maliciously, the scheme can recover the original content with good quality. %K Self-recovery %K region of interest %K semi-fragile watermarking %K complete fragile watermarking
