%X In this paper the reasoning method for the syntactic knowledge system is discussed on the basis of knowledge representation by means of grammar productions. In the syntactic pattern recognition the Earley parsing algorithm is an efficient analysis algorithm. In the syntactio knowledge system it can be used as a search strategy successfully. For applications of syntactic knowledge system in different fields the beuristic search strategy is also discussed, and an efficient bottom-up search strategy the ED algorithm is presented.
