%X Clonal plants of Mu Us sandy land change the sandy environment. They are important in transforming the sandy landscape. Our experiment showed that the number of grids occupied by plants invading bare ground in a clonal plant community was greater than the number of occupied grids in a non-clonal plant community. The existence of clonal plants can considerably improve the ability of self-rehabilitation of a sandy landscape. They may be a kind of resource in restoration of the Mu Us sandy landscape.
