%X A wrong tendency of doing away with literary theory has been prevailing among the academia in recent years, which has in fact resulted from a misunderstanding of theory.We should combine theory with experience. The meaning and value of theory lies in that theory is reflective and critical. The nature of concept is not only epistemic but also practical. For literary theory to play its part in the real life, what is the most fundamental is the establishment of our concept of literature, which can serve as our ideological basis for reflecting and evaluating the reality. The fact that literature criticism is misled in its value orientation indicates that it has given up its theoretical stance, vision, principles and standards,as it no longer concerns itself with the fundamental research questions such as those about the nature of literature and literary concepts.
