%X Following a thorough review of “field, farmer and village” problem, and of agricultural productivity succession trend, agricultural systems structures are grouped into five components, viz: farmers, farmlands, agro-materials, agro-production technology and agro-society management. The ordinal superposition of the five components could change into more advanced production modes which enhances succession of agro-system productivity and evaluation criteria and methods. This paper advances research and development modes of regional agro-systems, and societal needs for innovative agro-systems in North China. Such socio-agricultural innovations should be driven by supply and demand to optimize agricultural productivity in the region.
