%X Jiangshi, or history storytelling, played a for part in the study of history in the Song and Yuan Dynasties. The stories told in jiangshi were, however, more detailed and systematic than in any other legendary narratives. The rise and fall of jiangshi was therefore an index of the popularization of historical studies in these periods. It also indicates the spread of historical knowledge, the level of narration and the value standard d the time.
