张建理 %J 浙江大学学报(人文社会科学版) %D 1999 %I %X Mention is often made in the literature of markedness in gradable antonyms and relational oposites, Theis paper attempts an exploration into the two states of this concept: markedness and unmarkedness and their realization in these two types of opposites, It is pointed out that semantic markedness is a variable and that under the normal conditions the degrees of markedness in gradable antonyms are greater than those of relational opposites.
