吕顺长 %J 浙江大学学报(人文社会科学版) %D 2001 %I %X During the high peak of the student rush to Japan late in last century, the Qing Dynasty government ordered a sudden suspension on the government funding programs of sending short\|term students to Japan. A quality\|oriented policy was implemented that confined the programs in five Japanese universities. On the basis of a documentary study of the official newspaper, Qing Dynasty Students in Japan, this study presents a historical survey of the background and the whole process of the relevant Qing Dynasty policy and its reactions and consequences, especially in the case of Zhejiang Province. %K late Qing Dynasty %K Chinese students in Japan %K Student Programs in Five Japanese Universities
