%X This paper inquires into the environmental ideology of the Chinese eastem housing tradition. It has five parts: choice of the building, locations, diections, enclosure for protection and plants in the gardens. Each of them is provided with a typical proverb to explaine the believes and environmental consciousness contained there-in.
