%X Features of dynamic responses of root growth and distribution to soil water conditions,especially to water stress conditions and irrigation regimes as well as the relationship of root with shoot growth,grain yield and water use efficiency are reviewed with methods and ideas in root regulation for high yield and water-saving presented in this paper.
