%X In this paper, the occurrence probability of inversion .the average elevation and the depth of the inversion layer, and the largest intensity of inversion in subtropical mountainous areas of China are given. The laws of the spatial and temporal distribution of inversion in mountainous areas and the effect of some factors on the distribution of the inversion warm belt are described lastly, the ways of exploiting and utilizing the inversion resource in subtropical mountainous areas of China are proposed.
