%X In this paper, a few problems of electric power deficiency throughout our country are discussed. Since the year 1971, the electric pow r deficiency in a period as long as twenty years is caused by the deficiency of energy (coal and petroleum). Furthermore, the energy deficiency will continue till the last of this century. So, the problems of electric power deficiency can not be solved by accelerating the development of thermal power alone. But if accelerating the development of hydropower simultaneously, these problems can be solved by the end of this century
