%X This paper analyses and expounds the current situation and development trend of the land resource science. The discussion is based on the research background at home and abroad, the theoretical base of the subject, the research content, research methodology and form of expression, and development prospects and applied objectives. Thus, the author holds that the land resource science has preliminarily been formed as an independent subject and from now on we should continuously perfect its theory and enrich its practice.
