%X Sand damage to roadbed is one of the biggest factors affecting road safety and operation of desert expressway.In order to find out the most economical theoretical cross section of roadbed that is optimal to sand damage to expressway in desert areas,this paper quantitatively analyzed the measured data of various roadbeds along Yulin-Jingbian Expressway by using of mathematic model,has got the chief parameters affecting the degree of sand damage to roadbed,Put forward the design principle for alleviating sand damage to roadbed,compared the degree of sand damage to various roadbed structures,has obtained the relative ideal roadbed section pattern with less sand damage.It is of significance in designing and building expressway in desert areas.
