%X Based on expatiating the dynamic characters of groundwater level,we analyzed the period of groundwater level variation by the spectrum analysis method,also made the optimization on observation frequency of groundwater monitoring network in the plain of Shiyanghe River Basin.The results show that there are four periodic components in Changning Basin and two periodic components in each of Minqin and Wuwei Basin;the annual and the monthly dynamic regimes occur dominantly;and there are three kinds of groundwater level dynamic types mainly named \!infiltration-flow-pumping\",\!pumping\" and \!recharge-pumping\".The observation frequency can be considered two times a month in Changning Basin and three times a month in Minqin and Wuwei Basin.
