%X The seed germination, seedling growth of wheat were retarded by caffeine, when the concentration of caffeine was higher than 30ppm, The Index of root cell mitosis greatly decreased with the increase of caffeine concentration, There were no changes in the isozymes of POD and MDH in the wheat roots when the concentration of caffeine was low, but the activities of both enzymes were all lost when the concentration was 100ppm.
