%X Since 1986, a lot of papers have been published on development of virus resistant plants transformed with genes from viruses, such as coat protein gene. The resistance was supposed to be derived by genes themselves from viruses. However, it was found that there was no direct relationship between the resistance and the expression level of the transgene. A mechnism of specific degradation of virus RNA is reviewed in this paper.
