%X Leaf explants of Scilla violacea were cultured on MS medium with 6-BA 1ppm, IBA 0.5ppm. After 1 month in the culture, the adventitious buds were only produced from tile adaxial surface of the leaf. Histocytological observations showed that the adventitious buds were originated from the epidermis.
