%X This paper summerized the studies on the halophytes in China which includes ( 1 ) the halophyte species; (2) the types of halophytes; (3) the vegetation types of halopytes; (4) halopy- tes failed to be recorded in Holoph of the world; (5) economic potential of halophytes. The further directions and key area of research on the Chinese halophytes were suggested at last.
