%X Through analysis of sandstone fragments in triaxial tests with different confining pressures by sieve method and specific gravity method, it is found that the distribution of sandstone fragments is fractal. The fractal dimensions of sandstone fragment distribution are different under different confining pressures in triaxial tests. The fractal dimension of sandstone fragment distribution increases with the increasing of confining pressure. The physical mechanism of fragment distribution and the fractal model on the increasing of fractal dimension are studied in this paper.
