%X High resistance and yieldability of the support are the key factors to guarantee the stability of the roadway in soft strata. Poor loading condition will severely limit the supporting capacity of the supports in soft strata. Support backfilling, however can enable the supports to be loaded in early stage and uniformly, resulting in therefore great rise of the working resistance of the supports and hence effective control for the large deformation of the roadways surrounding rocks.
