%X The application of stress relief method by overcoring is introduced for determinationof in-situ stresses in a gold mine.A series of new techniques are used in the measurement,such as the technique of complete temperature compensation,improved hollow inclusioncells,automatic data recording equipment and dual iteration method for determination ofrock properties and 3-D stress state at every measuring point.These new techniques ensure the reliability and accuracy of the measurement effectively.The measured insitustress state of the mine shows a good accordance with the regional tectonic stress field,which strongly proves the correctness of the measured results.
