%X The influence of shield tunneling on surround soils is studied through the monitoring in situ. The soil disturbance is analysed by variation of the stress state due to shield tunneling, and the definition of the stress disturbance degree is presented. The mechanism of the ground surface settlement is also studied. The statistical relationship is proposed between mechanical properties of soils and the stress disturbance degree.
