%X Safe starting of tunneling is the premise of smooth tunnel construction. In general,tunnel starting is difficult when the geological condition of the surrounding rocks is not good enough. This paper discusses the tunnel starting scheme of the right line of the Wanwu Tunnel of the Fuding-Ningde Expressway. Based on tunnel support mechanism,the general and specific tunnel starting schemes,tunnel starting construction procedure and technical measures and parameters are introduced. The scheme described in the paper has been proved to be very successful in practice,and provides a good reference to similar works.
