%X On the basis of energy method, the study is carried out on axial stability of bottom fixed piles which have three different top abutments and are acted on by the lateral frictional resistance and top load. A series of formulas are developed to solve the stability problem, and critical slenderness ratio of the pile ( cr ) is solved by numerical method.
