%X A new method for slope probability analysis in soils and rocks is presented,based on slope stability analysis by upper bound approach. According to the disturbing principle,the random variable expression of limit load is derived. And then the partial derivative is worked out by utilizing the continuous fraction method. Finally,the optimal approximation in quadratic norm method is made to obtain the value of the slope reliability. The results show that the new method is accurate and efficient.
