%X The principle and method to measure the initial releasing expanding energy of gas from coal are introduced, and a set of measuring instrument is also built up. According to some test results of outburst and non outburst coal, the first releasing gas expanding energy from coal is much larger than the later one, and its quantity increases with the intensity of outburst in the uncovering coal seam.
