%X Based on the modified annealing simulation and simplified Bishop method for computing slope stability,an effective global minimization algorithm is presented for searching the minimal safety factor. The algorithm can simultaneously determine the minimal safety factor and the corresponding slip surface,and be applied to slopes with any geometry,layering,pore pressure and external load distribution. The application of the algorithm to slope stability problems shows that it can be used to search the global minimal safety factor for slope stability analysis by getting rid of local minimization.
