Climate warming could promote soil carbon and nitrogen decomposition and soil CO2 emission within a short period, but not always accelerate the decomposition of soil carbon and nitrogen in a long term. Therefore, to give a reasonable interpretation on the discrepancies of previous studies, a systematic analysis on the mechanisms about the effects of changing temperature on the decomposition of soil carbon and nitrogen should be made, and the differences about the long-term and short-term responses of soil carbon and nitrogen decomposition to the changing temperature, as well as the influences of research method, vegetation, soil, and climate conditions on the research results should also be fully understood. %K soil carbon and nitrogen cycling %K climate change %K decomposition of soil organic matter
