%X ADAM (a disintegrin and metalloproteinase),or named MDC (metalloproteinase/disintegrin/cysteine-rich) is a family of glycoproteins in cell surface,which was found in recent years and consists of a signal peptide,a propetide,a metalloproteinase,a disintegrin,a cysteine-rich domain,and an epidermal growth factor (EGF)-like domain,a transmembrane region,and a cytoplasmic tail.The research results about their origin,heredity,evolution and evolutionary relationship are summaried in this paper.
