%X The mitochondria DNAs (mtDNAs) of thrce patients with AAID were analysed using the method of direct sequeneing of their PCR produets. The results showed that all their mtDNAs had an A-G mutation at nucleotides 1 555. It is considered that this mutation is the molecular basis causing human susceptibility to Aminoglycoside Antibiotics toxicity which in coopcration with Aminoglycoside Antibiotics results in deafness.
