%X The large Balkash-western Junggar metallogenic province of the huge Central Asia metallogenic domain have the large metallogenic capacity because of their obviously significant tectonic position, however, only rare occurrences of the porphyry copper-molybdenum(Cu-Mo)deposits were found out in West Junggar, China. And so it is necessary to enhance the prospecting researches and broaden the prospecting strategy in this area. Recent years, preliminary studies in terms of field geological mapping, mineral resources surveys, structural geology, and petrography, geochemistry and geochronology of several key plutonic bodies in West Junggar have allowed us to find some new ore occurrences including Tuketuke porphyry Cu(Mo)deposit, Hongyuan porphyry Mo(Cu)deposit and Hongshan porphyry Cu(Mo)deposit reported in this paper, and to characterize these porphyry deposits. Consequently, the southern Darbut teoctonic magmatic metallogenic belts can be presented in West Junggar based on the spatial and temporal distribution and the rock-type of ore-bearing intrusive bodies for these ore occurrences associated with the Baogutu Cu-Au deposit in the western segment of the belt. In order to acquire well prospecting effect and to provide new data for the regional tectonic evolution, it is believed that a lot exploration engineering layout only by the geophysical and geochemical anomalies or mineral survey is not so advisable, the further research on the spatial and temporal distribution, petrogenesis of the porphyries and the mineralization characteristics, metallogenic comparison and regional structures should be enhanced in the future, and then the prospecting model must be verified by exploration engineering.
