%X Metapelites from the High Himalayan Crystalline Sequence (HHCS) and the North Himalaya Gneiss Dome (NHGD) have experienced upper amphibolite to granulite facies metamorphism.They consist dominantly of Al-rich gneiss with subordinate K- rich granitic gneiss,marble,and mafic granulite.Major and trace element data on a suite of the Himalayan metapelite show that (1) they are enriched in LILE and LREE relative to HFSE and HREE,respectively;(2) they have high contents of total REE,and substantial negative Eu ano...
