The intrusive body is of Late Yanshanian age, cropping out as a small stock over an area of 1.8 square kilometres. According to petrological, petro-chemical and REE geochemical data, and to ~(87)Sr/~(86)Sr initial ratio and melting experiment of the rock, it belongs originally to crustal-type granitoid which corresponds to the continental crust-transformation type formulated by Xu Ke-qin. However, it also possesses some characteristics of transitional-type (syntaxis type) granitoids since its megnetite content is greater than 1% and its biotite is rich in magnesium. On the basis of geological background studies enrichment of magnesium in biotite is thought to be caused by contamination by dolomitic limestones near the surface. %K Baoshan %K Granite body %K Mineralization
