%X OAI -MHP had gained more and more attention from various fields. OAI -MHP is of much interoperability and flexibility, that will help to build distributed digital libraries. The paper introduces the origin and development of OAI - MHP, as well as the philosophy and details of it. In addition, some misconceptions about OAI -MHP are pointed out.
